Starting from November 20, 2025, foreigners entering China may fill in their entry information online in advance through the following channels: the official website of the China National Immigration Administration, the government service platform, the "Immigration 12367" APP, and mini-programs on WeChat or Alipay, or by scanning the entry card QR code via mobile devices.

For foreigners who are unable to complete the online submission, they may, upon arrival at the port's entry-exit border inspection site, fill in their entry information online by scanning a QR code with their mobile phone or using on-site smart devices, or alternatively, they may complete a paper Foreigner's Entry Card.

The following seven categories of foreigners are exempt from the requirement to fill in the entry information:

  1. Holders of the People's Republic of China Foreigner's Permanent Residence ID Card;
  2. Holders of Mainland Travel Permits for Hong Kong and Macau Residents (non-Chinese citizens);
  3. Holders of group visas or those eligible for group visa-free entry;
  4. Foreigners in direct 24-hour transit who do not leave the designated port area;
  5. Foreigners entering or exiting China on cruise ships who return on the same cruise ship;
  6. Foreigners entering China via fast-track channels;
  7. Foreign crew members of entry-exit transportation vehicles.
